I couldn't afford them either. I have had my denture for 2 weeks now and I love it. I thought it was going to be awful, but it really isn't. My teeth were awful before and I hated smiling, now I smile all the time. I don't really even notice that I have a denture now. I still have my bottom teeth. As far as eating goes, it takes some time to get used to, but I don't have too many problems now. I am still in a little bit of pain, but I am a wimp. As far as talking goes, I haven't really had any problems talking except for when I wasn't using some poly grip. They stay in place better now. Good luck. I was in the same boat as you. I call them sliding plastic gum covers. You will have to relearn to eat and talk. Eating will be a totally different experience for you from now on. I tell my patients to remember that dentures are NOT a replacement for teeth. They are a replacement for NO teeth! I never tell patients that dentures are a good experience, rather the most miserable experience of their life. Not trying to be mean here, but realistic. You want the truth, this is it. I tell my patients to remember that dentures are NOT a replacement for teeth. They are a replacement for NO teeth!

I never tell patients that dentures are a good experience, rather the most miserable experience of their life.
