My daughter went through 2 1/2 years of braces, got them removed, and then had to have porcelain veneers put on two of her top teeth (the ones on each side of her front ones) that were undersized. Trouble is, these new porcelain veneers look huge. They are bulky and almost overpower her two front teeth. We are just not happy with the results–they’re not even straight. What should we do? Can the porcelain veneers be ground down or reshaped? Please help! We have spent thousands of dollars on my daughter’s smile, and that’s too much money for her teeth not to be perfect.
She just got her braces off less than 3 weeks ago and had the porcelain veneers put on last week. She’s been very diligent about wearing her retainers.

I just got my braces removed and have a cavity. It’s going to be at least a month before I have the money to take care of it. Is there anything I can do to help it not get worse?

I’m working as a dental assistant. I normally don’t get lunch and I frequently work late. There are times I work 10 hours without a lunch. I also am criticized by my boss, including being told I don’t smile enough! I’ve never had a complaint from a patient. Today I was told other assistants say I have a bad attitude because I don’t smile at them when we pass in the hallway! They change my job duties almost daily. One day I’m with Dr. A, the next day I’m doing sterilization, then the day after that I’m with Dr. B. There was even an instance a while ago where my employer grabbed my arm as I tried to walk out of the room when he was criticizing me to pull me back! I was told today that they have a lot of money in my because of my training and they don’t want to replace me and have to put money into someone else. Basically the only reason I’m there is because it would cost too much to replace me. I can’t afford to just quit my job and another job in my area is hard to come by. Are these considered "good cause" to collect unemployment???

Ok the other day I was at the dentist and he told me that I need to go see a orthodontist because my teeth aren’t straight. I made an appointment and I was just wondering what to expect on the first appointmet… I don’t know if I’m getting braces or an expander or what. Please tell me what to expect cause I am really nervous cause I hate the dentist!!! D: thank you

I’ve heard that the newer light bulbs and older dental work (fillings) contain mercury that gives off mercury gas. The bulbs release it when they burn out and older fillings release it when they are warmed by hot food or drinks. Has anyone ever felt the effects of or gotten sick off of this type of mercury exposure?

I had a tooth removed, they had to break it up into pieces, a week later and a bottle of tylenol, pain still stands when the tylenol wears off. I asked my dentist, he said dry socket, he put in some nasty clove mash and said that should help. but for the last week, when tylenol is gone my bottom jaw swells a bit, the pain pulses all the way through the back of my jaw and up to my ear. the tooth I had removed was on the top of my jaw.
my dentist wont talk to me, I’m on social assistance ( welfare) so I dont have much insurance, and his quick actions with out talking to me or listening to me. to me it seems he’s just going through the motions cause he isn’t getting paid much from me… so I hope to find a real dentist here with patience to help answer this question
what is dry socket? what is this clove mash crap ?
and finally is floride good or bad? I know the stigma is that its good for you but have heard other wise many many times..
