Did your orthodontist put them on for you, or did an assistant do it?

My dad got his fillings back in the 1970′s and they’re finally starting to fall apart or so he thinks because he can taste a metallic like taste in his mouth now. His fillings were made with a lead, possibly mercury, so we’re concerned that it might lead to health issues in the future…He doesn’t have insurance, so he can’t really go to the dentist to get things check out and we’re running out of ideas…I was wondering if there was anything we could do that might counter the lead/mercury’s effect on his system…
Anyone have any suggestions as to what we could try?

I’ve been noticing that my teeth haven’t been as white as they use to be and i was wondering what the best brand for whitening teeth at home?

Is it true? Does naval base dental clinics NEED dental assistants? I got that rate and will try to be on the top of the class so that I can get the first duty station that I want, STRONGLY preferring NAS Jax and NS Mayport.

Anybody stationed in those bases and been to the dental clinic? Or any naval base? Does the naval dental clinics are understaffed or overstaffed?

For example if I press my root-canlled infected tooth I can feel sensativity and pain in the tooth next to it. Is this referred pain or is the infection transfered to another tooth? I dont have any pain on the root-canalled tooth but if I touch it it seems the other tooth hurts so I don’t kn ow what’s going on there. However I am on Amoxicilin Anti-Biotic. The infection has gone down but am just curious incase it has spread.

I live in oklahoma….

I know a girl that interned for him and she said he only pays his assistants 8 bucks an hour…which to me is kind of insulting because they pay kids at subway 8 bucks an hour. The only experience I have is an 80 hour internship and school. But still …..8 bucks an hour? I would think at least 10 for starting out

What should I say or how should I negotiate with him?

I am thinking about getting invisalign braces, I have an overbite plus some crowding, nothing mayor though. I have a wedding in 60 days and I want to look my best. Would you recommend invisalign and will my teeth look better in 45 to 60 days?

One of my teeth has been hurting for at least 24 hours, on and off. I brushed it with Sensodyne, didn’t work. I’ve taken at least 4 or 5 Ibuprofen in 24 hours, it helped for a little while, but the pain came back. I also took an Aspirin, but that didn’t hold it off either. I’m running out of options. How do I make the pain go away?
No health insurance for a dentist.
It’s an incisor…I don’t think you can get a root canal done on an incisor.
