It might, and since retainers are expensive since they are specifically made for your mouth I wouldn’t risk it without talking to your orthodontist and asking him first. There are a lot of whitening solutions that you only have on for 5 minutes or a half hour. I would do it right before bed and in the morning after brushing your teeth after breakfast.
I thought about doing that too, but maybe the chemicals may harm the material? You can actually buy a mouth guard from Walmart, boil it until it gets soft, place it on your teeth until it hardens and creates a retainer like mold. Use that for the whitening..Overnight is a long time, you should do it while awake
I saw a video done by an Orthodontist showing how on youtube, but I wouldn’t. I don’t see how it would work that well. Ask your orthodontist or try some strips/paint on you can buy at the store
