Ok I’ll try to explain this the best I can. In december, in a sport accident, half of my top front tooth was broken off (horizonatally) and then next day I took the broken part of the tooth to the dentist and had it Re-attached to the top part that was still in my mouth (dont know what that would be called… bonded?). Now the dentist said there is no telling how long it will hold, maybe for a little, maybe forever (it was the 2nd time he had done this). NOW, in April, i feel that the tooth is somehwat sensitive to when i breathe SOMETIMES. I brush my teeth twice a day (morning, night, and use mouthwash) with Colgate Total. The tooth usually becomes sensitive more towards the afternoon. Im not sure why. Im ASSUMING because maybe the coating of the colgate total is wearing off? I’m wondering… should I get a toothpaste like Sensodyne ProNamel so it helps against the sensitivity and maybe helps the enamel around the tooth? Any other home type suggestions would be great!
the tooth obviously inly hurts sometimes, when my mouth is open, since air/wind would be getting to it… and its not all the time either, just once in a while. Its strange why its like this a few months later.
ps my toothbrush is a Crest Spinbrush pro whitening and I hardly touch the tooth with it, just graze it to clean it and not to apply too much pressure just in case!
PS, in a reply to the first answer posted, I was fitted at the dentist for a mouthguard and have been using that for sports… i forgot to mention it.
And if it was nerve damage, why wouldnt it be like this all the time and ever since it was repaired? It only started now and later on in the day, in the afternoons.
