I am trying to figure out if a college I’m thinking about accepts dual enrollment or not and these are the categories there are under Healthcare for "Concentration"
Alternative Medicine/Healing Arts
Dental Assisting
Dental Hygienist
Diagnostic & Treatment Technician
Health Information Technology/Records
Healthcare Administration
Human Services/Social Work
Medical Assistant
Medical Insurance Biller/Coder
Medical Office Assistant
Medical Transcriptionist
Nursing – Liscensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Training (Certificate)
Nursing – MSN
Nursing – Registered Nurse (AAS)
Nursing – RN to BSN
Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Personal Training/Nutrition
Pharmacy Technician/Assistant
Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation
Psycology
Surgical Technologist
Ultrasound Technician
Veterinary Medicine
X-Ray/Radiologic Technician

I know that a few of those couldn’t possibly be it, but a complete list, why not.
Also, wondering if maybe they don’t have a program for Nurse Anesthetic?

In 2012 I will be graduating with an Digital Communication degree from my current institution. I have become increasingly aware that this may not be the field for me. I believe I have the skills for this field( meaning I can learn and am a hard worker) however, when I look at the career prospects I see no hope for me. The industry of Graphic DESIGN/Wb Design (which anyone can learn w/o a degree) is already over saturated and there is little room for persons who will then just be entering the industry.

I have been thinking of alternative or closely related programs to expand my job search ( such as photography, which is also over saturated). I have recently come across medical and law (mainly medical) certificate to bachelor’s programs that train people in Court Reporting, Radiologic Technologist, Dental Hygienist etc. All of which pay more than my Digital communications degree ( which in itself is sad because of the amount of money I have been paying for this).

So my question to you is entering one of these profession worth the extra schooling ( as I will use some of my credits for a bachelor’s program)? I wanna try and stay in the relam of communication and technology as I can take some things from what I learned in college the first time around. Is this also an good idea if in the past I have struggled with match and sciences ( which I plan to some how work through)?

I want to help people and I do not believe my current major allows for that adqually. I’ll also be honest the pays amazing for not have a graduate or being becoming a Doctor in any fashion.

If you have any other career choices that applly better to my major now please let me know as well.

Thank You

Any Female Fleet Marine Docs out there?

Anyone out there? I can’t find a straight answer on this issue. Emergency medicine is kind of my thing, and I’m better than halfway to earning my nursing degree but I feel like I need to do this. I want to join the military, and not commission as an officer and a nurse and end up stuck at some crappy base hospital forever. I want the real experience, going to boot camp, training in combat medicine, being as "in the sh*t" as possible as a female. I understand I obviously won’t be assigned to a SEAL or combat unit, but can I even get close? Fleet marines is the way to go from what I understand, and I know I’d be "green side" as they say–no combat units–but does that mean I’m not going to do anything besides flu shots and band-aids? And can I get a guarantee that I’ll be able to go fleet marines, provided I meet the requirements in training. I know I’ll do better than good in the training aspects so I’m not worried about making the cut. I just don’t want to do anything else, I could finish nursing school and make a hell of a lot more money in about the time it would take me to get through basic and training, and not wind up a dental hygienist or a medical records technician or god knows what else. So if anyone has experience with this or know someone who has, some honest input would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
P.S. Someone responded with a diatribe about the marine corps. The fleet marine force is medical personnel pulled from the navy–so I would join as a navy corpsman, go through fleet marine force training and then be assigned to a marine unit. Fleet marines wear marine corps uniforms but have naval insignia and are still technically part of the navy. I would like to hear from someone who is or was a fleet marine force corpsman and actually understands this question.

Dental Hygienist from US relocating to Canada?

After researching how expensive it would be to go to school to become a dental hyienist in canada for a non-citizen, I have decided to go ahead with my plans to complete the program here in the states. I am a US citizen but am wondering how the career would transfter to Canada. Would I just have to complete some sort of exam there after I complete my training stateside or would I have to go through all the training again there. If anyone knows the answer to this I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.
