I am considering whether to be a nurse or dental hygienist. I realize that being a nurse has more career specialties. Are there also opportunities for advancement as a dental hygienist, such as starting one’s own practice or moving into management. Also, are there any "traveling dental hygienist" positions that are paid. Can you join the Peace Corps as a dental hygienist? I really want opportunities, job security, and flexibility in whatever job I choose, but I would also like a pleasant work environment.

Can anyone who works or has ever worked as a dental hygienist tell me the pros and cons of the job? Do you have to work overtime? Do you hate going to your job every day? If so, then why? Do you know if there are jobs available in this field right now?

I’m planning for after college…

I know that Dental Hygienist make a fairly high salary, but I’d like to have a side job just to make certain I always have enough money. What are some good, interesting jobs I could do on the side (if any)?

Both careers are supposedly in demand and yet I only see employers seeking dental assistants on job search websites. I want to complete a degree in dental hygiene but I don’t want to get out of college to find that I can’t get a job. Dental hygienists earn more than dental assistants but is being a dental assistant the best choice (considering that it will be easier to find a job as a DA)?

i want to be a dental hygienist but i dont know if i want to be in patient’s mouths all day however i would enjoy learning about teeth and toothpaste lol so is there a good paying job that allows me to still study about that stuff thats not dental assistant, den., or den. hygien.?

I have a Bacehlor Degree in child development. I am a stay at home mom and want to enter the workforce when my babies are in school. I want to work a part time flexible job and thought dental hygienist is the answer…any opinionsfrom anyone who knows anything about this field?
Or anyone have a better idea for a flexible part time job that makes decent money?
