who hates going 2 the orthodontist? i do and i will tell u everything. you walk in and you see him {the doc} and then an assistants puts u in a room bout the size when u go 2 the doc and the only thing in there is an ortho chair,couch 4 the assistant,stool,and a laptop. sometimes a clock. also a door which is closed and no windows in there. my ortho he is like 43. he has 20 assts in his office.

so asked a question about my braces and a "Certified dental assistant with 20 years in ortho" asked are you supposed to be wearing elastics (rubber bands) If you are then I can tell you that if you wear two of them instead of one especially at night, things will ‘move’ along faster. If you aren’t wearing elastics,,,,,, ask the orthodontist if wearing them will make the final steps needed to get you debanding day sooner.

is it true i can be wearing two rubberbands and it will make it move faster????

first off they said my braces would take two years it has been four and i have been following every single rule they gave me because i really want them off. And a large number of times they have over corrected making my teeth look sideways, and they accidentally gave my a under bite twice (they say they over corrected and it will be fine since they will fix it) they don’t have to walk around with the under bite i didn’t have in the first place!
Now, (no more under bites for awhile) one of my bottom teeth is much further back than the rest of my teeth i can see and feel the difference in how it is located, and it has also pushed the tooth next to it up and off to a side. What the hell are they doing now?? so far my teeth have just been a whole lot worse than they ever were when i never has braces. Plus the assistants ladies (whatever they are called) seem like they have so little training. The place i go to is called Smiles but they have ruined my smile on countless occasions.

What should I do????? Plus should i do something about my crooked tooth which is driving me crazy it is so noticeable, are they trying to fix something, or messing up again?

So i wanted to surprise my boyfriend at work. Anyway he works with his dad at his dads orthodontist practice, my boyfriend is a dental assistant. Anyway my mom was across the street grocery shopping so i thought i would cross the street, and wait. 20 minutes went by and he didnt come out. Finally i saw him so i called him. And he said he was already gone. except for he wasn’t because i was watching him! i got so angry that i waited 20 minutes and that he did that. i feel like i can’t trust him anymore. Should i say anything or do anything? He claims he hates me seeing him in his scrubs at work and that his dad gets really antsy and wants to leave right away, but why couldnt he just say that?? GAH, this is annoying.
I do care though. I’m not the type of person to be walked on, and i expect him to be truthful. he blatantly lied to me and i caught him, but he has no idea…

I’m going to be getting braces very soon. The orthodontist said he expected me to wear them for 24 months, while the assistant told me it could be anywhere from 18 months to 24 months.

My question is: If you had braces, about how long did the orthodontist say you had to have them, and about how long did you actually have them for? Is there anything I can do to assist and get them off quicker?

A little over a month ago my orthodontist told me that I would be getting my brackets on on January 29 which is tomorrow and then her assistant told me that I would be getting my braces on. Are these the same thing and if they aren’t then what is the difference.

Look at this pic http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/3291/teeth004kb8.jpg the assistant told me that because the teeth touch at the bottom the space can’t be closed. I have the same space on the other side. I’m thinking about seeing another orthodontist and see what they say. I’m really mad cuz I want my teeth to be perfect when my braces come off after all it cost me 6 grand!!

I’ve had braces for 3 and half years. my bottom front teeth are turning black at the root. my gums aren’t red they don’t hurt and i don’t bleed when i brush my teeth. I went to my orthodontist on Monday and the assistant just told me to brush my gums I’ve been doing that but nothing is happening. What should I do I’m scared my teeth are going to fall out.

What pays more…a orthodontist..dental hygienest…Pediatric Dentist ect. Once i graduate from high school i can become a dental assistant and all but i want to go to college and go farther into one of the feilds a mentioned earlier.
