I’m having my first root canal in about two hours from now and I am extremely nervous! My dentist told me at a previous appointment that I should be fine because the tooth isn’t causing me any pain or sensitivity to start with. However, everyone I’ve talked to has given me nothing but horror stories when it comes to the whole root canal procedure. Should I be alarmed or do I have nothing to worry about? Thank you for answering me with information about crowns earlier. I lost a lot of teeth structure on my front. Lots of enamel are lost. But I checked out the internet about crowns and it seems the picture for those people who use crowns have more teeth than what I’ve.

Maybe I’m wrong. Is there like percentage of tooth and crown together in order for it to be strong?

Is there any other option? I heard from a friend that porcelain veneer is not strong if u don’t have much teeth.. I guess porcelain crown is the same since they use the same material?

I schedule an appointment next week but I want to get some info so I know what to expect from dentist or see if he’s rite. What do u think I can do?

My fiance has a severe toothache and nothing is easing the pain. He has taken everything. Does anyone have any suggestions of what he should do? He has a appointment tomorrow. He cannot eat, or sleep the pain is so bad. Thanks for all the answers

He has also tried anbesol seriously he has tried EVERYTHING!!!

This morning I managed to chip a little bit of my front tooth. I’m not sure if I’m still registered at my dentist or not since I haven’t been in a while. I was thinking about phoning and asking but it typically takes 2-3 to get an appointment usually (for a check up).

I’ll be back at University in 2 weeks in a different city. I I just leave it till then and find a new dentist once I get there? or is it something that needs looking at urgently?

I clench my teeth at night. Apparently so hard that I caused irreparable damage to my front tooth (possibly teeth). My dentist tells me I don’t need a crown because it’s a front tooth. But, I’ve also heard that removing the root from a tooth makes it very brittle and can easily break/crumble. This is my front tooth; I’m extremely nervous about doing this correctly. I’m going to lose my dental insurance in a few months and want to do this the right way the first time. I had my first appointment for my root canal today. I’m going back in a couple weeks for them to fill it. The dentist has recommended that I wear a night guard to prevent any more clenching/grinding. I will wear it faithfully, but am still nervous about losing my front teeth. What should I do?

In a few hours, I go to the dentist. It will be my third appointment. At first, I had a root canal. A week later, I got the temporary core put in and they took an impression of the tooth. So, today, I get the crown put on and it is the last appointment. So, what will happen t oday? How long does it take? Will it hurt?

A top left molar had a temporary crown put on it. I have an appointment in two weeks to get the real thing put on. However, part of my regular tooth broke off today when I was chewing gum. It doesn’t hurt because I had a root canal. I’m just worried about waiting two weeks and longer to get the real crown put on it, because what if it continues breaking? What should I do?

I have a cracked wisdom tooth which began hurting very badly a couple of nights ago. So, I bought some Oragel to put on it, which has always worked in the past. Not this time, I may as well have put straight sugar on it, it hurt so bad, I started crying. I ran to the sink and washed it out, but it still made my toothache much worse than it had originally been. Why would it make the tooth hurt worse instead of numbing it?
the tooth cracked about a week ago and I have an appointment next week to have it extracted.

I just went to the dentist recently…. no cavities, yes!! But the doc says I have bacterias in my gum which can cause gum disease and lead to bigger problem. He recommend that I get my gums a deep cleaning??? Anyway, my appointment is set to 2 weeks from now and Im just very scare becuase I never had a deep cleaning before?? does anyone know what they’re going to do or what they mean by deep cleaning my gums???
