Gum disease?

The last time I went to the dentist they said that if I didn’t start brushing really good that I could develop gum disease. Tomorrow is my next appointment and unfortunately I haven’t done that good of a job. For the past week or so I’ve been brushing my gums really good but they hurt a lot. Do I have to worry a bunch about it? Can it be reversed if I brush a lot more? What will they most likely do?

i have a dental abscess and pain's killing me?

I went to the dentist’s this morning and he prescripted an antibiotic and painkillers too.
I’m still in pain even if I took them both.
How does it take before I feel better?
I hope these pills can ease my pain till next Friday (I got the appointment to the dentist’s,he’s gonna extract the decayed tooth)
If someone can share his experience that would be great
thank you all for your advices…it’s my first toothache ever but it’s hella painful,
Don’t know why I found out cigarettes help to feel less pain than earlier.
PS I’m not encouraging anybody to start smoking

I am a dental hygienist. The hygienist is the one who focuses on preventative measures, primarily cleaning your teeth. I need to hear the patient’s perspective.

I have always been curious…would you prefer:

A) Your hygienist let you sit back and relax, listen to the radio, a little chit-chat here and there, with occasional tips on how you are doing with your oral health.

OR

B) Your hygienist chat throughout the appointment about current events, your family, and future plans, along with tips on dental health .

I keep a healthy balance of all of the above. I think I know when to step back and let the patient relax and when they demand more attention. But still, I am interested to know how people really feel. Maybe some patients just join in on the chit-chat to be friendly, but are dying inside to just sit back and relax and have peace and quiet.

Common sense tells me people like to know you care about their life, but, what is your preference when you have your teeth cleaned?
Do you feel snubbed or bored, or like the hygienist has no personality, if the hygienist is just working away and not particularly socializing?

He told me to make an appointment with the dental hygenist, but I figure a scale and polish is for stained teeth, not decaying teeth

Will crazy glue hold bonding on a tooth?

So stupid. But my bonding just came off the front part of my tooth, and if i crazy glue it, how long will that last before I have to go into the dentist? Because I cannot get an appointment for a while

I have an appointment in about 4 weeks and have latex free rubber bands for overbite. I would say that my teeth move at a pretty moderate pace, and I’m 13

I had a filling put in on the 2nd that was supposed to only last for one week. Its lasted, but its wearing away now. Underneath this filling is a layer of cotton and then the nerve is totally exposed (the fault student dentist fiasco, don’t ask). The endodonist said that if I was in any kind of pain at all it was an emergency and to call immediately. Its been in pain for more than a week, and now I can no longer chew without incredible nerve pain from the afflicted tooth. It feels like the filling is being ripped out.

I am incredibly frustrated and annoyed, I’ve told my mother my symptoms on several occasions, but her reaction always is "the appointment is soon, just take some Advil and don’t chew on that side of your mouth". If the doctor hadn’t seemed so adamant about us calling then I wouldn’t have a problem at all, but I’m worried about what will happen.

My mother won’t call the dentist like he insisted that we should, so how do I convince her?
The endodontist is a family friend and doing it for free, actually.

‘Coz I have a chipped tooth in front at the bottom part and I was just thinking that if my teeth will finally be aligned, the chipped part will be very noticeable. I forgot to ask about that to him when I finally got my braces, and my next appointment is not until next year.

So yeah, I was just wondering, what they’re going to do about it. And also I’ve heard about fillings after the teeth are aligned, what exactly do they mean by that?
