I need a health insurance company that covers the following…

1 Dental (including cleanings / xrays/ exams / procedures)

2 Vision (including contacts / glasses / exams)

3 Medical (prescriptions / doctor visits / exams / emergency room / surgerical procedures etc)

I’m healthy and will be going to be moving out and going to college but I want to cover everything. Obviously co-pays I will have to pay myself.

I am a California resident and looking for a Dental Plan only without having Health Insurance.
But I heard that if you are CA resident, you have to have a Health Insurance in order to have a Dental Insurance.
I am wondering if it is true or not.

College student needing braces/dental care?

I used to be covered under medicaid, however I became ineligible when I turned 19 even though I am a full time student (either I misread the new law or the rep didn’t understand a word I was saying.) And by law I am required to have health insurance, so I am currently enrolled in my school’s health insurance. However, it mainly gives discount for prescription drugs. So I was wondering if there were any orthodontic or dental insurance that covers orthodontic for adults (I’m 20) where I or my parents don’t have to pay too much. I have a pretty big open bite, I think my bottom teeth keep getting more crooked, and I think I have a cavity or two because I can actually see a crater on the outer surface of one of a tooth.
I may ask my mom how much her insurance is through her work because when she had it a couple years back, she said it was really expensive

What do you do if you have a chipped tooth?

My boyfriend doesn’t have health insurance and he noticed a chip in his tooth today in one of his back teeth. Does he need to go the dentist ASAP or what?

HR 1495, Tax Rebate Health Option?

I came across this a few weeks ago and have been contemplating it. I’ve decided that I’m for this particular idea in the arena of health care reform, but in talking to people discovered like myself, no one had heard of it despite it hitting the floor in March. Thus, I’m here to toss the idea out for everyone to consider and talk pros and cons.

Comprehensive Health Care Reform Act of 2009 – Amends the Internal Revenue Code to:
(1) revise the tax credit for the health insurance costs of a taxpayer, the taxpayer’s spouse, and dependents to increase the amount of, and expand eligibility criteria for, such credit;
(2) permit up to 0 of unused health benefits under a health flexible spending arrangement to be carried over to a succeeding plan year or paid directly to an employee as compensation;
(3) revise the tax deduction for payments to a health savings account to eliminate the requirement for coverage under a high deductible health plan; and
(4) repeal the 7.5% threshold limitation on the tax deduction of medical and dental expenses.

Good or bad?
I’m not a Ron Paul supporter per say, I like some of his ideas, not all. I like some of Dennis Kucinich’s ideas, but not all. But, sidetracking the idea into a partisan conversation misses the entire point of the question. I agree, it will probably go no where because there are no unions, companies or lobbyists supporting it. That in itself is sad and very telling to the state our government is in. But a good idea is a good idea in my book and I wanted to relay. The question is if you don’t think it’s a good idea, why not?
I agree, it will not lower the cost of health care… but I don’t think that’s the point. I think the point… or at least this is what I got out of it… is to be able to access a pool of money you would normally lose altogether as an incentive to take better care of yourself.

I imagined it from this perspective: I normally don’t do yearly dental or physical appointments because my particular insurance is set up in yearly pools of money. However, were I able to at the end of the year file them into my taxes, I would definitely go annually because I’d get more of my money back at tax time.

So, in that respect, it IS an incentive for someone like me. Does that make sense or did I explain that badly?

I have to get dental surgery and it is now a matter of life and death. However I do not have much income or health insurance. I need to find out if there is a government program that can help me or if there are any plans that will help me at a reasonable price.

I just turned 18, and don’t have health insurance, and I think I have two jaw abscesses and I need to get an x-ray. I just don’t want to spend my whole life paying it off!

Health Insurance…is this plan a good idea?

Alright, I’ve always had insurance through my job, but I moved an am just going to be working part time..so I am looking for health insurance.

My uncle thinks "the best thing for me is to be protected a major claim, because of my age go with a lower cost monthly plan a month." Blue Cross & Blue Shield have one for 9, which included dental.
It is there PPO Select Choice (I-VIII)- Blue Choice or Blue Card Preferred Provider Organization
Lifetime Benefit- No Limit
Office Copay-
Out-of-pocket Limit- Deductible plus 3,000
Prescriptions- Gen, Pre, and Non- Preferred.
Deductible is 5,000, 80 % coverage

I could get Cobra coverage from the last employer but, it would cost me 5 per month- ouch, granted we did have, very good insurance. I’ve always been with BlueCross and BlueSheild, but anyway, do you think this a is a good deal? Or should I shop around more?
I might add, I think why my uncle said this was because he knows I have access to money, heaven forbid if something happens and I need to pay the ,000 deductible.
I have the funds to pay up to 350-400, my uncle asked him to send him what I had found…and that is what he told me.

I really don’t go to the doctor that much, I did however have an ‘urgent care clinic’ visit. But other than that, I’ve never been the one to go to the doctor. I really just get birth control with it. I’;m a worry wart and just want insurance for the ‘heaven forbid’ moment.

Details of Plan:

Monthly Premium 9.00/month
Network – BlueChoice or BlueCard Preferred Provider Organization
Lifetime Benefit – No Limit
Individual Out-of-pocket Limit -Deductible plus ,000
Family Out-of-pocket Limit- Deductible plus ,000
Office Visit Copay-
Outpatient Physician Medical Services- Deductible and Coinsurance
Outpatient Physician Surgical Services- Deductible and Coinsurance
Preventive Care- 100% (no Deductible)
Childhood Immunizations- 100% to 8 years of age
Inpatient Physician Medical/Surgical Services- Deductible and Coinsurance

I did a root canal on one of my molars 2 years ago, everything was fine, but recently I have started to experience a pain when I drink something hot. My general dentists advised me to see a specialist, but I don’t have money to do it. I started drinking antibiotics and pain and sensitivity went away for 3 months. Now the tooth hurts more, I can feel hot and cold water, and sometimes it hurts in the evenings too. I wonder if there is some good dental plan I can buy, that can help me to save money on health insurance in California, or maybe there is some dental insurance I can buy. I am from Ukraine, so I am thinking maybe i should buy a ticket home and fix my tooth there, however I am registered for classes in the university and I don’t want to put my life on hold because of this trip. To cut a long story short, I just really need a good advice on what should I do. I want to save a tooth, and I am not even thinking about pulling it out so don’t advice me that option please.
I am going to Ukraine every summer, so I wonder can my tooth survive till summer ( about 5 months) if I drink antibiotics like every two months or I will end up loosing it if I don’t treat it right now?

Please help (serious answers):

I am going to be a senior in college. I used to have Medicaid but was cutoff when I turned 19. All students are required to have health insurance. The university’s plan is about 0 per semester (four months). My problem is that I need a lot of dental work done: root canal, crown, filling. From what I understand, the University’s plan only covers "accidental dental."

Should I purchase the University’s plan or should I buy a private (cheaper) one? If you think I should go with private insurance, what do you recommend for a student? I live in Missouri.

Thanks.
