Im in school right now and im taking my pre-requisites for Dental Hygiene. However i just failed my math class which means it adds yet ANOTHER math class to my list since im going to have to re take it. Im stuck between Dental Hyiene and Sonography. I like both careers equally, im not in it for the money, i dont care which one makes more i just want to start working. Now this is where im stuck. In order for me to get into the Dental hygiene program these are the basic classes i still need to take – 3 biology classes, 2 chemistry classes, 3 more math classes (including the one i failed). For sonography i just need 3 biology clalsses and i can apply for the program. All my pre-requisites that i would need for the sonography program i technically ALREADY finnished! I have been feeling very negative about school lately because i failed my math class. I dont know what to do because i am MISERABLE at math and i dont want to keep failing math and wasting time when i could just take 3 more classes and start training for a career in sonography. What should i do?

How much Is cosmetic dental surgery?

Okay,so when I was ten or eleven I knocked one of my two front permanent teeth out. Nobody was able to find the tooth for about a week and when they found the tooth it was too late to be able to put it back in.
So now I only have one front tooth and It has messed up the lining of the rest of my teeth a little bit. I have gone to the regular dentist numerous times since then and they have cleaned my teeth and fixed whatever else was wrong with them.
I want to completely fix the rest of my front teeth but they said that I would have to go to a cosmetic dentist to be able to fix It.
My insurance will not pay for cosmetic dentistry and my family cannot afford to pay for it for me.
I wanted to know about how much it could run for something like this to be done, and is there any good ways I could go about raising the money for the procedure.
Please help me out,I am extremely self conscious about it.

Full Mouth Xrays…does your dental office do these?

I’ve been a patient of my dental office for nearly 18 years, during the most part of which I’ve been quite pleased. However, they’ve recently started recommending periodic full mouth xrays (FMX) in addition to the annual xrays.

First, I am currently without dental insurance, so I lay out the money at the time of visit. FMX is rather costly. During the years when I did have insurance, FMX was never mentioned. Also, I’m not crazy about having so many xrays done at one sitting.

When would FMX be necessary?

FYI, I am fortunate to have nice chompers. Whether it be due to genetics, proper daily care, regular dental visits, or a combination of these, I do feel lucky. Aside from a few fillings and the removal of my wisdom teeth, I’ve had no other work. No root canals, no crowns or bridges, no cracked or chipped teeth…and no discomfort to lead me to believe I might have something to be concerned about. And I’m almost 40.

Thanks in advance for any input.
Oops…it appears I may have jumbled my wording. I have only had annual bitewings (4 or 6) in the past. The office has started recommending FMX as an occasional event (once every several years). Since I’d not heard of FMX before, despite having had regular cleanings and checkups all my life…I am inquiring about the importance of periodic FMX. Thanks.

I need to know about dental savings plans.?

I have dental insurance but they only cover up to 1000.00 worth of treatment yearly. I am very close to maxing out and I have a lot of dental work left to do and my insurance does not roll over until next October. So I the question is… Are these dental savings plans through Aetna, Cigna..etc… worth the money? I would like to find one where I don’t have to pay up front and be refunded later… Any suggestions?

Dental work while on maternity leave…?

I’m currently on EI for illness (health troubles related to the pregnancy) and switching over to maternity leave within the next month. I’m going to need some dental work done soon but I don’t have any kind of dental plan or coverage, and I’m wondering if there is some way that employment insurance will cover the cost of that?
I’ve heard that ei covers dental work up to 0 yearly, but I don’t actually know if this is true or how to set that up so that I can go to the dentist, as I don’t have the money to pay for the work right now

Do Dental Hygienist or Pharmacist have a higher salary?

My main goal is to become a doctor, but first I need an undergraduate degree, and money for Medical School. Which one makes more money straight out of school, how much, and whether one will make more money later on in case I decide to take Medical School a lot later. If you don’t know, a Dental Hygienist is not a Dentist. Please provide the average yearly pays for a Dental Hygienist and a Pharmacist. Money is the only thing that matters here.
