On Tuesday I had my lower right wisdom tooth taken out. Come to today and I still can’t open past an inch. If I stress it I can do a little more each time but the muscles on my jaw tighten and hurt, and my the extraction site twinges. Is this normal? Can I expect a few more days of stiffness?
I’m a 2nd semester junior in college working on my bachelor’s in biology. I really want to do something in the health field but I don’t want to be a doctor or a nurse. It’s either going to be Dental Hygienist or Cytotechnologist. A Dental Hygienist are people who clean teeth. A Cytotechnologist sits in the lab and looks and slides under a microscope for precancerous cells.
The schooling/training for both are about the same. The prerequisite classes are the same. With my research, sometimes one field is making more than the other and vise versa so it’s not very dependable as far as what I’ve found so far. I’m cool with working with patients, and I also am cool with sitting in a lab all day with no patient contact.
If anyone out there can weigh some pros/cons or if your in one of the fields mentioned, I’d be very happy for your opinion
i got a cleaning in December, but after the cleaning my gums bleed a lot, and i often wake up with some blood in my mouth and not sure what to do. i made another appointment for dentist,, hoping it’s nothing bad. what can i do for now to help stop the bleeding. which mouthwash you recommend?
I need your help guys. I had two mercury fillings in two of my bottom teeth put in as a child (around the ages of 6 or 7). Now I have had these in for a little over 20 years now, and my mental health seems to be getting worse over the years. My memory is bad & have struggled with depression for many years now. I know that mercury is bad for you, but could the fillings have accelerated it? At the moment I do not have dental insurance, which scares me..
How is the dental insurance in the military? Do they pay for most major dental practices?
In first grade half of my front left tooth was knocked out and I got a crown/cap. I’m 21 now and years of coffee and smoking has turned the crown yellow. I want to get it replaced. My insurance is Anthem and crowns are covered 50%. Please help with estimated price of crown replacement.
any of it? (I am talking in general since I know that there are some variations in home owner’s policies.) It is going to cost me 00 to go to a dentist and have a new one put in.
I thought that people who lost their wedding rings were covered. Isn’t this the same sort of concept?

I am 13 years old and I am going to get some fillings tomorrow! I knew about getting them about a month and a half ago and I thought "no big deal" and now that it is close to time I am really scared and nervous! 
what happens? What do they do? Does it hurt? I have never been afraid to go to the dentist but I am now! Could you please help me!

The reason why I was asking is because I was thinking about getting some cosmetic work done on my teeth (they are extremely small and I was hoping to have Lumineers fix the problem so I can actually feel confidant when I smile); however, to pay the entire cost up front would be too much for me to handle. I was just wondering if anyone out there knew if payment plans existed for this kind of thing… I mean, I couldn’t afford paying 00-6000 right up front, but I could definitely manage monthly payments, if payment plans are available. I kind of looked online to see if such a thing existed, but didn’t have much luck. Anyways, if anyone is in the know about this, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!
