I had some X-rays done at the dentist today and on the X-ray of the right side of my mouth he saw a black dot between two of the back teeth. He said I have to come back for another X-ray in 6 months to see if it has cleared. I am very concerned about this. What is it and What will he do if it has not cleared when I go back to him? If you are a dentist I would love to get an answer from you.

i recently had 2 x-rays done without knowing i might be pregnant and now i’m worried i am pregnant and have now caused harm to the baby. is it possible? the first x-ray i had a protective shield over me but the second one was a standing x-ray. could that do alot of harm? i would only be about 2weeks pregnat or less. but still.. i’m hoping it’s a false alarm and i’m not pregnant.

I want to be a dental assistant. I don’t want to be an actual dentist, but I want to be the nurse/assistant to comes in before the dentist to clean the teeth, take x-rays etc.
There’s no classes or anything offered at colleges near me for dental assistants.
Is there a degree even usually required for this, or just usually a High School diploma/GED.
I’m 18 and currently at a community college getting my general education (transfer) degree.

I had a CT scan of my head/sinuses about 3 weeks ago and I have an appointment with my dentist next week and I know they’re going to want to do x-rays. I’m concerned about the radiation exposure issue, since the CT and x-ray are only a few weeks apart. Should I reschedule the dental appointment or refuse the x-rays or is this not even an issue? If it does pose a problem, how long after the CT scan is it safe to wait before having an x-ray?
Thank you

Long story short, my current Dentist messed up my bridge work that was done 7yrs ago (not by him) He was on vacation the week after it happened so I had to see the Dentist that works with him. In less than 30 seconds, she remarked that I needed a new bridge. Anyway I don’t trust the Dentist who did this and I want to go to a different place. I called today and ask for the copy’ss of the x-rays taken 3 times in 3 months of that bridge so my new dentist had something to go by. I said I had no problem paying but I was told they can’t give me them. Maybe I am wrong but I thought I had a right to all my medical reccords & especialy if they are for another Dentist, to better help him understand the problem.

I’m 26 weeks pregnant with #2, going to get my routine cleaning tomorrow. For the last 8 months or so (actually since my last visit when they gave me two fillings), I’ve had pain and can’t chew on the left side of my mouth. I went back 4 times, and they didn’t get it right, and with a busy schedule (I have a now 14 month old), I couldn’t keep going back.
Now that I’m going in again, I wanted to see what the risks are for x rays during pregnancy. I’ve done a little research, but I’ve found conflicting opinions.
Any thoughts?

is there any way to avoid getting x-rays at the dentist? They ALWAYS seem to demand that i get X-rays taken, even when I just want to get my teeth cleaned or filled. I am an adult.
